Your Questions answered
How long is your winter season?
The fun begins in mid November, and winds up at the end of April. You'll need to be able to work for us throughout the season. And, of course, for some of the management roles, you'll need to arrive earlier to help us get ready for the start of the season. Finally, you can work with us all year round, during the winter you will be given the opportunity to apply for a summer role.
Can I choose where I work?
We want everyone who works for us to have lots of fun and really enjoy themselves. So if you want to work in a specific resort - or even a certain chalet - we'll try and accommodate you. If that's not possible, we'll try and think of an alternative that will offer you a similar experience.
Can I work with a friend or partner?
Working with friends or partners can create a great atmosphere. So we'll try our best to arrange it. We can't guarantee anything, but even if we can't place you in the same chalet or hotel, we'll try and keep you in the same resort!
Will you arrange for my travel to and from the resort?
We certainly will. What's more we'll pay for it. The journey to the resort at the start of the season and at the end of it, which you'll receive free, generally starts (or ends) London.
Where will I live?
In some of the most beautiful mountain resorts in Europe. We'll put you up in great chalets, hotels or staff apartments, along with the rest of your team.
Will I need a work permit or visa?
Certain countries may require a subject access form as part of their visa requirements, but as long as you provide us with a valid EU passport, we can take care of all the relevant paperwork on your behalf. Applicants for childcare roles, however, will be required to undergo a reference and Enhanced Disclosure check (find out more at www.crb.gov.uk)
Will you pay my interview expenses?
Not for your first interview, we're afraid. However, should you be asked for a second interview, we will pay expenses - within reason!
Will I be able to ski/snowboard and see the sites?
Definitely. We see it as a really important part of working for us. You'll have plenty of time off to speed down the slopes, enjoy the nightlife and get to know all about the local area. You'll soon be an expert.
How will I be paid?
Direct into your bank account or building society back in the UK. Bear in mind that you'll be paid monthly, in arrears.
How will I be able to obtain money while I'm overseas?
All our resorts have plenty of cash points. If your bank card has a Cirrus, Maestro or Visa sign on it, you'll be able to use them. It's really handy - and the exchange rate's pretty good, too. If you're in any doubt as to whether you can use your card abroad, ask your bank to set it up. One final tip - why not set up an internet banking facility on your account? That way, you can easily check your account from the resort.
Will I be given a uniform?
You will. And very stylish it is, too.
Will I be insured?
Yes. Your well-being's really important. So we'll give you full medical insurance whilst you're with us. As an added bonus, you'll get limited cover for your personal possessions while you're working for Crystal, too.
